Wilderness tour: wildlife observation along the Tauernhöhenweg

With your National Park Ranger, you will meet at the valley station of the Ankogel cable car. With this we float up to 2,600 m above sea level. Once there, we hike without much difficulty along the relatively flat Tauernhöhenweg trail to the Kleinhapscharte at 2,510 meters. These areas are the perfect habitat for chamois, ibex and marmots – with a little luck you may even be able to observe a bearded vulture – the king of the skies in the Hohe Tauern National Park – through the binoculars provided by your National Park Ranger. We will conclude this eventful day with a portion of Carinthian culinary delights in the Hannoverhaus at over 2,500 m.
