• Entry and exit markings
• Carry mobile phone & a whistle
• Never paddle at high water
• Avoid weirs, power stations and dams of all kinds
• Exercise extreme caution on river stretches that are difficult to navigate
• Keep your distance from all other water users
• Put on a life jacket
• Dress appropriately for the water temperature
• Dressing material and knowledge of first aid can be helpful!
